Summary A film about political greed and social upheaval. Traces the history of a slave revolt, in the Caribbean in the mid-19th century. At the instigation of a British agent, William Walker, white settlers join black guerrillas to overthrow the Portuguese rulers of Quemada Island. As time passes, the settlers sell out to the British sugar companies. The resultant wage-slavery proves an impossible burden for the blacks, who revolt again. The British agent returns to the island, this time to quell the revolt. The end result is the obliteration of an entire society.
