OTHER AUTH An intriguing ad in the Chipping Cleghorn local paper invites the villagers to witness a murder, one evening at Miss Blacklock's cottage. Everyone turns out, expecting a new kind of party game. At the appointed hour, the lights go out, three shots are heard, and a body slumps to the floor. It is no longer a game. Inspector Slack duly arrives to find that the case is not as simple as it might appear. At first, he refuses to believe that a frail old maid can help at all. But, it takes the razor sharp mind and super intelligence of Miss Jane Marple to realise who is responsible for the murder, and how it happened.
