Notes Since 1986 Newport Classic Ltd. has been producing a wide variety of classical recordings, from period-instrument performances of Handel’s operas and oratorios to light operas by Victor Herbert and Oscar Straus. The catalogue offers the complete piano sonatas by Beethoven and Schubert performed by Seymour Lipkin, as well as light-hearted albums by The Paragon Ragtime Orchestra. For audiophiles, we have two albums by the Pasadena Symphony, conducted by Jorge Mester, that were recorded using the Neumann ‘Dummy Head’ binaural microphone.
