Summary The video examines the people of Porgera. Nine years ago when filming began at Porgera, people were living in bush huts and trading pigs for wives in the age-old fashion. Now because Mount Waruwai in the heart of the Porgera Valley contains one of the world's most outstanding gold deposits, a gold-mine was constructed in 1990. Consequently, the people have received compensation payouts and Western-style relocation houses. They are learning how to drive earth movers and use appliances. The video examines how the people of Porgera are embracing change.
