Moore, John, : Information : be it remembered that on the ninth day of January in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five, at Launceston, in the said Island, cometh John Moore in his own proper person, who prosecutes for our Sovereign Lord the now King, as well as for himself in this behalf, before me William Lyttleton Esquire, one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said Island and its Dependencies, and giveth me the said Justice to understand and be informed, that Oliver Adams of Launceston in Van Diemen's Land aforesaid, licensed publican, on the first day of January 1835, on his premises situated as aforesaid, one John Griffths a felon not travelling with a regular pass nor in attendance upon his employer did receive for the purpose of drinking or did knowingly permit the said John Griffiths to remain contrary to the provisions of the Act in Council of this Island No. 8 George 4 intituled "An Act" for breaking the laws to prevent the harboring of felons in this offence and to restrain their tippling and gambling". For which said offence, and by virtue of the said Act, he the said Oliver Adams, hath become liable to pay the penalty or sum of fifty pounds. Whereupon the said John Moore prays that the said Oliver Adams may be summoned to appear and answer to this information, and make his defence thereunto. Exhibited and taken the day and year first above written, before me, John Moore, W. Lyttleton. Plea: not guilty.
