Summary SBS is once again proud to be the host broadcaster of the Deadly Awards. Now in its 18th year, the annual celebration is black Australia's night of nights, dedicated to recognising and showcasing Indigenous excellence in fields such as the arts, music, sport, education, health, employment, cultural advancement and leadership. This is the 10th year that SBS has been the broadcast partner of this prestigious event, which will be held at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday, 25 September 2012. The Awards will be hosted by two of Australia's brightest and well-known stars, actor Luke Carroll and singer/songwriter Casey Donovan. The 2012 Deadly Awards will also showcase some stunning musical and acting performances, including: Jessica Mauboy with a song from her new film The Sapphires; Opera singer Deborah Cheatham performing a tribute to the late great legend Jimmy Little; Tasmania's up-and-coming singer/songwriter Dwayne Everettsmith; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers from Circus Oz; and rising stars of Aussie Hip Hop, Yung Warriors. As the anticipation builds to find out who has been the most deadly in 2012, finalists include last year's winners of the category and SBS's premier Indigenous current affairs program, Living Black, nominated again for Most Popular Television Show of the Year. .
