History notes PIERRE HAMEL is Professor of Urban Planning and Sociology at the University of Montreal. He is the author of Action Collective et Democratie Locale and co-editor of Action Collective et Enjeux Institutionnels. HENRI LUSTIGER-THALER is Associate Professor of Sociology at Ramapo College in New Jersey. He has published several books on social movements and collective action. JAN NEDERVEEN PIETERSE is Associate Professor of Sociology at the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague. He is co-editor of Review of International Political Economy and advisory editor of several journals. SASHA ROSENEIL is Professorial Research Fellow in Sociology and Gender Studies at the University of Leeds. She is the author of Disarming Patriarchy and Common Women, Uncommon Practices: The Queer Feminisms of Greenham.
