Summary During World War One, the Ottoman Empire slaughtered over one million Armenians. Turkey has denied this genocide, and still denies today. This film tells the story of how and why this massacre happened, tracing its history to the 1800s into the 1900s, i.e., before, during and since World War I. Includes the historical background of the Armenian people, civilisation and their native land, Anatolia. Includes selected archival footage of relevant historical events in the regions; as well as location maps. Features interviews with acclaimed scholars such as Peter Balakian and others for comments and analyses of the issues. It also notes the position of the Turkish government which has always maintained that no genocide took place.
