Notes Acqua Records is an independent Argentinean label based in Buenos Aires, and began its activity in 1997. The catalogue includes approximately 300 titles from the most varied music and genres, having a strong presence of Argentine tango, as well as folk music, jazz and classical music items. Over the years, the artists recorded for the label and their albums have been nominated and awarded both locally (8 Gardel awards - the most important music prize in Argentina) and internationally (5 nominations and one Latin Grammy award). Highlights of the catalogue include the complete guitar works of Atahualpa Yupanqui by Carlos Martinez, Paquito D’Rivera “Music from Two Worlds”, and Hugo Diaz’s “Tangos”, used as the soundtrack in the movie “The Counterfeiters”, winner of the best foreign language film category in the Oscars Academy Awards in 2007. Nominated for best classical album, Latin Grammy Awards 2000, Adrian Iaies "Las tardecitas de Minton's", nominated for best album of Jazz, Latin Grammys 2000, Juan José Mosalini's works, probably the best bandoneon player in the World.
