Physical description xxi, 167 pages : illustrations, portrait ; 22 cm
Local note SpC/PRIV copy bound in dyed brown baby pigskin with an all-over pattern composed of "five poppy heads connected to a single stem" and short stems with "three leaves each". The flowers and leaves are interconnected by blind-ruled geometrical stems, all of the design being stamped in blind. The only use of gilt on the covers is the pointelles at the very base of each poppy head and a tiny gilt "ring' that connects the five stems on which the poppy heads sit. The spine is blind-blocked with more poppy heads on stems, and the title and author's name in gilt. Inner turn ins with 2 gilt fillet borders and at the bottom: Guild of Women Binders. On the inner pastedown is a pencil notation: " Des'd by C.K. [Constance Karslake], executed by F. de R.[ Florence de Rheims]", apparently in the handwriting of Harold Karslake, Constance's brother and founder of the Guild.
