Summary In 1942, with most of Australia's troops fighting in Europe, and only one division mainly concentrated on the south-eastern seaboard, defence strategists decided to defend Australia only south of the Tropic of Capricorn. This film exposes the fact that the Brisbane Line strategy was not effective in stopping Japanese landing on the north coast of Australia.
