Summary On July 3 2003 Doug found himself travelling on a New York subway near Coney Island. He had no idea who he was, where he lived or what country he was in. Struck by a rare and profound form of amnesia a distraught Doug turned himself into the police and then the local hospital but doctors could offer no explanation nor predict when his memory would return. On that day thirty seven years of his life experiences including all memories of family and friends were wiped out.
