Summary Nikko is an anciet centre of Shito and Buddhist worship. It was Japan's most ornately decorated shrine and mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu the founder of the the Tokugawa sogunate in the 1600's. The temple is a huge comples of buidlings and a national park.
