Hand-written in black ink on 12-stave rastrum-drawn music paper. Dated "1874" in pencil by a previous owner at lower margin of first title. Inscribed "D.S." in pencil to blank upper margin of each title.
Although the pieces appear to be folk songs from various Spanish-speaking countries (including Spain, Mexico, Peru, and El Salvador), the music paper is of English origin, and the transcriber writes title pages and other directions primarily in English.
