Notes Collection of music manuscripts, notes and folders located in the Lenton Parr Music, Visual and Performing Arts Library, Southbank campus, University of Melbourne. Includes scores of “If Nineteen were Twelve” 1982/1986 for flute/alto flute/piccolo, cello, trombone, piano, electric piano/synthesiser, percussion - [Original and copies]. Also includes teaching notes, compositional fragments and sketches.

History notes Jeff Pressing (1946-2002) “was a composer, performer and researcher of music, performing scientific research in a number of areas, focussing on motor behaviour and skill, cognitive science and the mathematical modelling of behaviour”(Move Records). He was born in San Diego, studied at CalTech and University of California and undertook a Fulbright Fellowship in Germany. He moved to Australia in 1975 taking up the position in the music department at La Trobe University, and was later head of the Cognitive Science Master’s Program and senior lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Melbourne. (Williams, 2003) He was a Represented Artist at the Australian Music Centre. He was a prolific researcher with dozens of publications including articles, chapters, conference papers, books, and edited books, plus musical compositions and sound recordings of his music.
