Summary Explores how John F. Kennedy charmed the world and changed politics forever by using the mass media of photography and TV. The Kennedys helped usher in a youth culture that affected every aspect of American life. The Kennedys actively sought to create an image of the perfect American family and used television to do this, while behind the scenes, there was a very different picture. As much as the mass media helped Kennedy, it also created intense pressure, as the activities and decisions of the White House were scrutinised and questioned daily.
