Gerritsen Collection of Aletta H. Jacobs

Aletta Jacobs was a Dutch physician and feminist who, along with her husband C.V. Gerritsen began collecting information on women's issues in the late 1800s. By the time their successors finished their work in 1945, the Gerritsen Collection was the greatest single source for the study of women's history in the world, with materials spanning four centuries and 15 languages. The collection contains more than 4,500 publications from the U.S., the U.K., Canada, New Zealand, and continental Europe. Users can trace the evolution of feminism within a single country, as well as the impact of that country's feminist movement on other countries and their movements.

Global Financial Development

The Global Financial Development Database is an extensive dataset of financial system characteristics for 203 economies. The database includes measures of (1) size of financial institutions and markets (financial depth), (2) degree to which individuals can and do use financial services (access), (3) efficiency of financial intermediaries and markets in intermediating resources and facilitating financial transactions (efficiency), and (4) stability of financial institutions and markets (stability).

Global Health

Global Health is the only specialist bibliographic abstracting and indexing database dedicated to public health, completing the picture of international medical and health research by capturing key literature that is not covered by other databases. Publications from over 100 countries in 50 languages are abstracted, and all relevant non-English-language papers are translated. The database's open serials policy and coverage of international and grey literature means that 40% of material contained in Global Health is unique to the database. Everything from proceedings, theses, electronic-only publications and other hard-to-find sources are included. Coverage commences from 1910 to the present.

Global Plants

Global Plants, previously titled Plant Science, is an online environment bringing together content, tools, and people interested in plant science. Covering the world’s largest database of plant type specimens which when complete will contain an estimated 2.2 million specimens, over 175,000 scientific research articles and other content dating back hundreds of years, including reference works and books, correspondence such as the Kew’s Directors' Correspondence containing hand-written letters and memorandum from the senior staff of Kew from 1841 to 1928 and more than 20,000 paintings, photographs, drawings, and other images. Users can create a "MyPlants" account, which enables you to save many of your actions on the JSTOR Global Plants site, including links to objects, image measurements, and zoomed in views.

The Grand Tour was a rite-of-passage for many aristocratic and wealthy young men of the eighteenth century: a phenomenon which shaped the creative and intellectual sensibilities of some of the eighteenth century’s greatest artists, writers and thinkers. These accounts of the English abroad, c1550-1850, highlight the influence of continental travel on British art, architecture, urban planning, literature and philosophy. This collection of manuscript, visual and printed works allows scholars to compare a range of sources on the history of travel for the first time, including many from private or neglected collections. Groundwater and Soil Contamination Database

The Groundwater and Soil Contamination database (GSC) includes over 87,000 bibliographic references to the worldwide literature on this subject. Coverage is worldwide, with emphasis on the United States. Journal articles, books, conference proceedings, theses and dissertations are included. Also covered are all relevant reports of the U.S. Geological Survey, and reports of the U.S. Departments of Energy, Defense, Health and Human Services, and the Interior, and the Environmental Protection Agency.
