Title Information : be it remembered that on the eleventh day of March in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one, at Launceston, in the said Island, cometh Augustus Walsh in his own proper person, who prosecutes for our Sovereign Lord the now King, as well as for himself in this behalf, before me William Lyttleton Esquire, one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said Island and its Dependencies, and giveth me the said Justice to understand and be informed, that Charles Clephine of Launceston In Van Diemen's Land aforesaid did on evening of the seventh day of this present month, harbour one Edward Cain by allowing the said Edward Cain, convict, to remain on his premises in a state of intoxication contrary to the provisions of the Act in Council of this Island No. 8... entitled "An Act for amending the Laws to prevent the harbouring of felons or other offenders and to restrain their tippling and gambling." By which said offence, and by virtue of the said Act, he the said Charles Clephine hath become liable to pay the penalty or sum of fifty pounds. Whereupon the said Augustus Walsh prays that the said Charles Clephine may be summoned to appear and answer to this information, and make his defence thereunto / exhibited and taken the day and year first above written, before me, W. Lyttleton [at?] Walsh.
