The volume is divided into 3 parts. Part 1 provides the overall framework and background against which to consider the more specific studies presented in Parts 2 and 3. Part 2 details various techniques and approaches which can be used when interpreting the palaeoenvironments of lakes. Part 3 provides various case studies from around the world arranged in stratigraphic sequence.
