Description ABCB Codes & Standards database provides a nationally accepted and uniform set of technical requirements for all areas of building, from design to construction. The National Construction Code (NCC) was developed by the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) on behalf of the Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments, and is referred to as the building regulation in all States and Territories of Australia. This service provides access to the National Construction Code (NCC), which consists of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) + the Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA), and the Australian Standards referenced by the codes.

  From 24th July 2023 all users visiting the new i2i platform will be prompted to self-register the first time they access the platform, after that your University of Melbourne sign in will authenticate your registration. The self-registration process will request first name, last name, University of Melbourne email address, and ask you to create a password. Once registration is verified, no further action is required. This information is stored by SAI Global and not shared unless a potential infringement is uncovered. SAI Global's privacy policy can be viewed here.
  From 1st May 2021 all AS documents will have Digital Rights Management (DRM). All users must have the FileOpen plugin installed to view Australian Standards. FileOpen is freely available from here. Or, if you have a UoM managed computer it can be downloaded from the Software Center. See SAI Global's guidefor more details on how to access DRM protected standards.
